私はもうずいぶん長い間、日本に住んでいますが、これまで何度も憲法9条についての議論をしてきました。
本書では、軍隊の存在が戦争を引き起こすのではなく、逆に戦争を抑止するものであるということを論証しています。平和は軍事力によって保たれます。強力な軍隊を持つ国は攻撃されません。なぜなら、攻撃する側にとって、自殺行為になるからです。
さらに本書では、日本人は好戦的な民族ではないということを示しています。確かに徳川幕府とスペイン帝国の間で戦争が起きる可能性はありましたが、実際には起きませんでした。徳川幕府は、西洋諸国がやったようなアジア侵略には関わらず、鎖国を選びました。
大東亜戦争当時の日本と違い、徳川幕府は十分に国を守れる軍事力を持っていました。ですから、スペイン帝国が徳川幕府と戦って勝つことは不可能でした。一方、大東亜戦争の時は、国家が生存するには資源が必要であり、日本が存続するためには、世界に向かって勢力を拡大する必要がありました。
あの当時、もし日本がおとなしく米国に服従していたら、日本はどうなっていたでしょうか。日本の著名人の中には、戦争になったらすぐに降伏すればいい、と言う人たちがいます。しかし、そういう選択をした場合、日本は地獄と化すであろうということを私は本書で説明します。
さらに、近い将来起きる可能性の高い、日本に対する武力攻撃についても、本書のChapter9に書いています。これは、統一された北朝鮮と韓国が日本を攻撃するという戦争シミュレーションです。実際、韓国の左派は統一工作を急いでおり、数年以内に戦争が起きる可能性があります。
米軍の協力が得られない場合、この戦争はどのような様相を示すのでしょうか。そうしたことについて説明します。
なお、本書で私が示した「統一コリアによる日本侵略のシミュレーション」は、2018年夏の時点で想定された一つの可能性であり、2019年3月の時点で全くその通りのことが起きているわけではありません。しかしその後も、統一コリア誕生の可能性はむしろ高まってきており、そうした統一コリア誕生後に何が起きるかを考える上で、私のシミュレーションは大いに参考になるでしょう。
日本には軍隊が必要です。もう、国内で無駄な論争をするのは、やめるべき時がきているのです。
